What did you do to make your last holiday time exciting? 

Have you checked the recently conducted TV WEEK – Greek Variety Show Contest? The spectacular show was hosted by none other than Harry Michaels, who is known for creating wonders on TV. The first prize of the contest was a trip for two economy class to Athens by Qantas, Australia’s national airline. Besides this, an amount of $300 for other expenses was also provided by the National Bank of Greece along with a week’s accommodation. The participants were supposed to name the building shown to them on a screen. It was an awesome experience overall and it was a pleasure watching the show presented by Harry Michaels.

It Was All Stars On The Floor For This Special Appeal

There could no other better occasion than Christmas to do something big for a noble cause. The Channel 10 Christmas appeal got massive response by renowned personalities who came together to push it forward in a remarkable way. The event was scheduled for 11.00 AM at Glenelg’s Moseley Square and was full of 22 hours of non-stop entertainment. The objective behind this gathering was towards the aid to The Children’s Medical Research Foundation.

Harry Michaels - A Mentor To Many

Harry Michaels OAM is a visionary in the Australian broadcasting landscape but also a mentor to so many desperate to forge a career in the Media. Harry’s company Harry Michaels Productions which would evolve into Zero1Zero was the sole provider for all football broadcasts on SBS Television. Within 18 months Harry employed me as a presenter in the innovative new SBS football show Soccerama which was hosted by SBS legend Les Murray. It was the start of a lifetime friendship. By the end of 1986 I was host of Sports Report Australia - the first National sport show on Australian Television. I was only 24yo. Harry - like so many other people he has met in the industry - would become a key mentor. Our bond grew stronger as I continued to take huge steps at SBS as we both worked on the National Soccer League competition as well as Socceroos international games and World Youth Cup tournaments.
